WorldRemit

Media Relations & Diaspora Communication

WorldRemit, a leading Fintech remittance startup with a successful Series D funding round of $175M led by Goldman, engaged us to handle its media relations and diaspora communication with a focus on African and Filipino diaspora markets.

Our three-pronged strategy was designed to:

  • Position WorldRemit as an advocate of migrant communities through championing the contributions made by migrant communities to their country of origin and their migrant home.
  • Demonstrate through case studies and third-party evidence how WorldRemit understands the migrant experience of sending and receiving money.
  • Continue to educate and inform audiences of who WorldRemit and how secured using WorldRemit is.

Leveraging annual celebratory holidays, we launched initiatives for Black History Month (BHM), Asian American Heritage Month (AAHM), Martin Luther King Day, Mother’s day, and International migrant day. For BHM, we started the Inaugural Top Ten List of Most Influential Migrant Africans; this was the first list of its kind celebrating African immigrants in America as part of BHM. We also created the initiative for the Inaugural list of Influential Filipinos in the Diaspora.

As a result of the strategies implemented, we secured coverage for WorldRemit in crucial business and diaspora press like Okay Africa, Africa.com, Face2Face Africa, Filipino press, Asian Journal
